Lance Melton Williams

Lance Melton Williams, 67, of Quapaw, Oklahoma, a proud U.S. Army veteran, loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on May 3, 2026. Born March 19, 1959 in Eldorado, Kansas to David and Ireta Williams, Lance was the fourth of seven children. Victor, Jerry, David “Mooch”, Frank, Charles “Poke”, and his sister Carolyn "Sue". In a house full of siblings, Lance learned early to laugh loud, share what he had, and look out for family. Lance served his country in the United States Army for 12 years. Known by many as “a machine,” he brought the same discipline, strength, and reliability to his family that he showed in uniform. If Lance said he’d be there, he was there. He was funny, kind, and had a heart of gold. He was a wonderful Uncle and Friend who’d show up to your game, teach you how to throw a punch or change a tire, and take your call at 2 a.m. without asking why. He could walk into a room and make it lighter. Lance was preceded in death by his parents, David and Ireta Williams, his brother Victor and by the love of his life, his wife Regina Williams. He is survived by his sons, Joshua Corter and Christopher Williams; his grandchildren, Cassidy Corter, Larissa Corter, Caleb Gehlken, Joseph Gehlken, Kendal Gehlken, and Trey Williams; his daughter-in-law, Sabrina Williams; his brothers Jerry, David “Mooch”, Frank, Charles “Poke”; his sister Carolyn "Sue"; and many nieces, nephews, and friends who loved him dearly. Lance’s legacy lives on in his six grandchildren. His heart of gold, his Army grit, his laugh, and that stubborn Williams streak is still here, running around in them. *A celebration of Lance’s life will be held at a later date.
