Kenneth James Nodine

Kenneth James Nodine, 81, of Fairland passed away at his home on Tuesday, June 6, 2017. Kenneth was born December 14, 1935 in Washburn, MO, the son of Joseph and Elsie (Lawrence) Nodine. He spent his early years growing up on Mike’s Creek near Powell, MO. He graduated from Rocky Comfort High School. He later furthered his education by taking night courses in electronics, drafting and mechanical engineering. Ken and Kay were married in 1954 and soon started a family of 3 children. In 1955 he began to work at Power Flame in Grandview, MO working his way from assembly line to Vice President of Manufacturing. In 1972 he was active in moving the company’s manufacturing to Parsons, KS. In 1978 he began employment at Ruskin Manufacturing in Parsons as General Manager of Manufacturing Engineering. In 1992 he retired to Fairland, OK where he started his own business in 1994, American Enterprises of Ottawa County. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Kay, son Larry and wife Pat of Broken Arrow, OK. Daughter Paula and husband Gary of Afton, OK. 5 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren, Sister Evelyn Daniel of Fairland, sister Virginia Dalton of Wheatland, MO. He was preceded in death by Father, Mother and daughter Susan Nodine in 2013. He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Fairland, OK, loved camping, fishing and playing guitar. He enjoyed making beautiful wood projects including jewelry boxes and many items for his church. He could fix anything. Services are 2:00 PM on Friday, June 9, 2017 at First United Methodist Church in Fairland with Reverend Shannon Rodenberg officiating. Interment will follow at Fairland Cemetery under the care of Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairland. Casketbearers will be Jeff Dalton, Scott Dalton, Shannon Dalton, Stan McDaniel, Wayne Flippin and Robbie Michaels. There will be an honorary casketbearer, Don Dalton. The family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the First United Methodist Church in Fairland in honor of Ken.
