John S. Pogue

John Sherman Pogue passed away August 28, 2015 at Integris Baptist Regional Health Center in Miami. He was seventy-six years young. He was born September 19th, 1938 in Miami to Jim and Beryl Pogue. He attended school in Miami. John has been handicapped most of his life, but you never heard him complain. John could do anything anyone else could do. He was an outdoorsman, and he loved taking care of horses and cattle. He retired from Fairhaven Limousine Ranch, owned by Bob and Ruth Rasor. John was a member of the Peoria Tribe of Oklahoma. He was also a member of the First Christian Church. Mr. Pogue was preceded in death by his parents Jim and Beryl Pogue, one brother Jim and sister in law Nickey Pogue and his wife Louise Pogue. John is survived by four brothers, Jack Pogue and his wife Karen, Tom Pogue, Bob Pogue and his wife Paulette and Don Pogue and his wife Toni all of Miami, and three sisters Carolyn Ritchey and her husband David, JoAnn Merit and her husband Glen both of Miami and Mary Kay Allen and her husband Clay of Broken Arrow and a special friend Judith. He is survived by his seven step-children Mary Caywood and her husband Mike, James Pritchett, Jerry Pritchett and his wife Carolyn, Gina Murray and her husband Joe, Melva McClerry and her husband Donnie, Hollis Pritchett, and Rebecca Urias and her husband David, twenty grandchildren and thirty seven great grandchildren, three special granddaughter who set up with John at night Lisa Brandenburgh, Shelly Kay and Cherrilyn Denver and one daughter who set up also, Rebecca Urias other survivors include a host of nieces and nephews, aunt, and cousins by the 100’s Visitation will be 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at the First Christian Church Chapel in Miami on Sunday, August 30, 2015. Funeral services for John will be Monday August 31, 2015 at 2:00 PM at First Christian Church with Reverend Charles Clevenger and Reverend Wayne Wall officiating. Interment will follow at the Peoria Tribe Cemetery under the care of Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Miami. Casketbearers will be Ken Pogue, Chris Pogue, Kyle Pogue, Jason Pogue, Paul Pogue, Shane Pogue, Scott Allen and Wayne Wall Honorary Casketbearers will be Gary Reynolds, Bud Armstrong, Pete Cooper, Sonny Booth, Tommy Bradenburgh and Denver Feuder.
