David Leslie Ritchey

David Leslie Ritchey, 95, a longtime Miami resident passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Sunday, April 28, 2024. Dave was born on March 23, 1929, in Rock, Kansas to Leslie Winford and Grace May (Widner) Ritchey. David graduated from Sparta, Missouri High School as Valedictorian. David worked as a carpenter on houses through the years. He also had his own tile business. Mr. Ritchey was a member of First Christian Church for many many years. He also was a member of the Fairland Lions Club and volunteered for Senior Companions. Dave could also be found volunteering at the Integris Miami Hospital where one of his favorite duties was keeping the coffee pot brewing. Mr. Ritchey was preceded in passing by his parents Leslie and Grace Ritchey, his first wife Delpha J. (Wilson) Ritchey, a sister Marcella Robertson and a son-in-law Charles Warren Beaver. Those left to share Dave’s memory are his wife Carolyn Ritchey of the home, his children David Lynn Ritchey and his wife Patti of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Sherry Elaine Beaver of Webb City, Missouri, Sheila Wyrick and her husband David of Miami, his grandchildren Michael Ritchey, James Ritchey, John Ritchey and his partner Stevie Craig, Michelle Thurlo and her husband Craig, CD Beaver, Ashley Wyrick and Aimee Miller and her husband Kaleb, his great grandchildren are Dylan Williams, Dalton Thurlo, Destiny Thurlo, Makayla Jackson, Jacoby Jackson, Garren Jackson, Ruger Miller and Ryatt Miller, his great great grandchildren Kinlea Williams and Bowen Williams and his Brother Charles Ritchey. Along with his fifteen Nieces and Nephews who he loved dearly. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 1, 2024, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Miami. There will be a celebration for Dave on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at 10:00 AM at First Christian Church in Miami with Minister Leon Weece officiating. There will be a private family interment at Glen Abbey Memorial Garden in Miami. Services are under the care of Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Miami. The family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the Good Shepherd Hospice in Grove and First Christian Church Miami.
