Clyde Dale DePriest

Clyde Dale DePriest, 85, a long-time resident of Wyandotte, Oklahoma, passed away at his home on Sunday, January 7, 2024. Dale was born on July 13, 1938, in Stella, Missouri, to Homer and Frances (Francisco) DePriest. Dale graduated from Goodman High School with the Class of 1956. Dale married Carolyn Hathaway on September 12, 1956. Together they would have four children. They were separated by her passing in June of 1992. He would later marry Shirley Chidester on August 22, 1998. Dale will always be known for his strong work ethic and rich friendships. He would be seen leaving before daylight and getting home after dark. He started his career with Foremost delivering eggs. He would later be promoted to deliver milk and sometimes ice cream across the four-state area. He retired from Foremost Foods as a Regional Director. After that he was hired and worked in Management for Hiland Dairies of Joplin, Mo. After retiring again Dale decided to start DePriest Farms, where he raised “Broilers” for Simmons, Hudson, and Tyson Foods. When he wasn’t working he enjoyed attending the ATA Lodge in Perseverance, Missouri with Shirley and friends where he served as President for twenty-two years. He also enjoyed raising livestock, hunting, and fishing with family and friends, as well as taking trips to Branson and fishing trips to Canada in recent years. Preceding Mr. DePriest in passing are his parents, Homer and Frances DePriest, wife, Carolyn DePriest, brother in-law, John Francisco, son, Ricky DePriest, daughter, Rachael McAffrey, sisters Ina Brock and Karen Viles, and son Wesley Chidester. Those left to share the memory of Mr. DePriest include his wife, Shirley DePriest of the home, son, Randy DePriest and his wife Debbie of Coffeyville, Kansas, son, Rodney DePriest of Carl Junction, Missouri, daughter, Shiela Lile and her husband Rick of Neosho, Missouri, son Rodney McAffrey of Wyandotte, Oklahoma, and sister, Jennie DePriest of Joplin, Missouri. Grandchildren include Jason DePriest and Tracie, Justin DePriest and Jordan, Tiffany Chastain and Jared, Brett DePriest and Lacy, Ashley Laughlin and Josh, Hank DePriest and Kara, Tanya Austin and Byron, Kristen DePriest and Shane, Echo Valadez and Justin, Shandee Younger and Eric, Whitney Allerton and Kalen, Chelsie Sidenstricker and Deshun, Weston Chidester and many great grandchildren. Mr. DePriest is also survived by a host of lifelong friends and relatives. Memorial Services have been scheduled for 11 A.M. Monday, January 29, 2024, at the ATA Lodge Perseverance, Missouri and have been placed in the care of Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Miami, Oklahoma.
