Clarence A. Bruster

Clarence A. Bruster, 91, a resident of Miami passed away at his home on Wednesday, January 15, 2014. Mr. Bruster was born on March 18, 1922 in Lightning Ridge, Oklahoma to Lonnie Floyd and Winnie Lois (Shook) Bruster. He married Lorean Gossett on January 15, 1944 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, they enjoyed exactly 70 years together. Mr. Bruster joined the Army where he served for many years then enlisted in the United States Air Force. He retired from the Air Force after thirty years at the rank of Major. He served at Tinker Air Force Base and then stayed on and worked as a Civil Service worker as a purchasing agent. Clarence was preceded in passing by his parents Lonnie and Winnie Bruster, his brothers and sisters Orvall Ray Bruster, Winifred Ruth McPhearson, Wanda Sue Cousey and Tommy Bruster along with his step-mother Adabell Bruster. Survivors include his loving wife of seventy years Lorean Bruster, his daughters Jerry Ransom and her husband Randy of Miami, Sherry Bruster and her longtime friend Dianne Clay of Tulsa and Mary Hogue and husband Rodney of Castro Valley, California, his grandchildren Jamie McMinn and her husband Bradd, Carrie Huffman and her husband Jason, Justin Hogue and his wife Jenna, Jeremy Hogue and his wife Tiffany and Jonathan Hogue, also surviving are his great grandchildren Cobie Haynes, Xavier Huffman and Abigail Hogue, along with his brother and sisters Mona Lee Brock, Audrey Ray Bruster and Barbara Robertson. Visitation will be2:00 PM until 4:00 PM on Sunday, January 19, 2014 at the Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Services are 10:00 Monday, January 20, 2014 at First Baptist Church in Miami with Reverend Rick Longcrier officiating. Casketbearers will be Justin Hogue, Jeremy Hogue, Jonathan Hogue, Randy Ransom, Jason Huffman and Bradd McMinn. Interment will be Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma. The Tinker Air Force Base Honor Guard will provide full military honors. Services are under the care of Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Miami.
