George W. Foster

George W. Foster passed from this earthly life surrounded by his extended family at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. George was born November 14, 1945, in rural Wyandotte, Oklahoma, to Emmett and Pauline Foster. He was preceded in death by both parents and sisters Venda Conduff and Joyce Hoover. His beautiful bride of Forty Six years, Beverly June Foster also preceded him in death on November 8, 2009, but now are reunited in glory to dance once again as they loved to do here on earth. His children and grandchildren who lovingly referred to him as PaPa George are comforted by the fact that they are together again. George was employed by BF Goodrich for twenty four years was Blitz Plant Manager and opened Discovery Plastics. George and his wife, Beverly established Foster’s Package Store and Bev’s Beverages in January 1971. They were members of the Miami Golf and Country Club since 1972 where he & his wife Beverly enjoyed many friends and activities through the years. George was a member of the Episcopal Church of Miami and was baptized in March of 1969. Much of the Fosters’ summers were spent on Grand Lake, family vacations and golfing at Miami Golf and Country Club. George and Beverly loved to travel with close friends. Mexico and Las Vegas were two of their favorite places to vacation. Mr. Foster was preceded in passing by his Parents, wife Beverly June Foster, and his two sisters Venda Conduff and Joyce Hoover, and a brother in law Fred Friend. Survivors include his children, Darren Wayne Foster was born Nov. 3, 1964, and Kelly Jo Carpenter was born Oct. 19, 1966. both in Miami. Darren has two children, Cheyenne and Dakota Foster of Miami. Kelly has three children, Daniel Rasor and wife AshLynn of Louisville, KY, Andrew Rasor and wife Kalyn of Moore, OK and Corie Anderson of Miami. George had one great-grandchild, Cheyenne’s daughter RaeAnn June Foster, who was named after her great-grandmother, the late Beverly June Foster. George is also survived by three sisters Betty Friend of Seneca, Missouri, Norma Prater and her husband Don of Wyandotte, Donna Marlow and her husband Hermann of Las Vegas, Nevada, one brother Gary (Pete) Foster and his wife Ann of Miami, his three sister in laws Joyce Roberson, Sheila Hull and Teresa Finley who loved him as much as a brother in law could be loved. George was a huge part of their lives and gave them much guidance through the years and they respected him and were there until his final breath. Also mourning his loss is Linda Stoops who has been a wonderful friend and companion. A Celebration of George’s Life will be held at First Baptist Church in Miami on Wednesday, December 3 at 11 a.m. Mr. Mark Rasor along with Daniel and Andrew Rasor will officiate the service. Burial will be at the Wyandotte Indian Cemetery immediately following the service under the care of Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Miami. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Miami. Casket Bearers will be Daniel Rasor, Andrew Rasor, Dillon Ross, Dustin Foster, Dakota Foster and Kelsey Hull. Honorary Casket Bearers will be Gary Gilstrap, Gayle Edmondson, Don Barr and Jerry Blevins. Memorial contributions may be made in Georges name to the Grand Lake Shrine Club Children’s Transportation Fund.
